Welcome to the Church Family!

Zion offers many opportunities for making close and lasting friendships with your brothers and sisters in Christ.  We invite you to learn more about us by visiting our worship services.  You are also welcome to make an appointment with our Pastor to learn more about God's calling on your life and the opportunities here at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.   Please explore our Web Site and FaceBook pages to learn more about Mt. Zion.  If you have questions, please call the church office (478) 962-0311.

Here's what to expect when visiting Mt. Zion for the first time.

First-Time Visitors with Children:

Important Child Safety Note:  We treasure your children, and their safety is of utmost importance to us.  All children's church volunteers are required to submit to a third-party background check and submit an application about their family history.  We also adhere to the two-person rule, requiring that two teachers be in each classroom.

Your First Visit:

  1. First, speak to one of our greeters.  You can easily identify our greeters because they are standing by the front, double-doors of the sanctuary wearing a bright badge and a big smile.
  2. One of our volunteers or deacons will escort you and your child to their age-appropriate classroom.  The Youth Building for teens is located across the street from the sanctuary.
  3. If your child is nursery-aged, upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following information:
  • Parents'/Guardian Names
  • Child's Name/Birthdate
  • Phone/Address
  • Special Instructions (such as allergies, feedings)

Disclaimer:  We do not share this information with anyone outside the church.  The information will help us keep your child safe.

First-Time Adult Visitors:

Your First Visit:

  1. First, speak to one of our greeters.  You can easily identify our greeters because they are standing by the front, double-doors of the sanctuary wearing a bright badge and a big smile.
  2. If you arrive before/during the Sunday School Hour, one of the greeters will be happy to show you to a classroom.  Please feel free to visit as many of our classes as you wish until you find the perfect fit.
  3. After Sunday School, follow the class to the sanctuary.  Our worship services are "blended" meaning we have both traditional and contemporary music.
  4. When you receive your bulletin, you will notice a "Welcome" tab.  Please fill that out so that we can become more familiar with you and your family.
  5. First-time visitors are asked to stop by the Welcome Desk in the foyer to receive a gift bag.
