Local Disaster Relief Ministry

Mt. Zion Baptist Church organized a local disaster relief ministry to respond to the needs of our community during an emergency crisis. Disaster relief includes several organizations plus members of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church congregation who will respond as needed.  While this ministry functions as a community-based disaster relief program, it is a church-based initiative working in obedience to Christ's command to love and meet the needs of our neighbors.

If you hear of anyone in the community (not just MZBC members) that has a disaster such as a house fire or accident causing injuries, call Pastor Dwayne Bedingfield, (478) 277-0130 or Reverend Hershel Standard, (478) 951-8855, and a rapid response effort will be initiated.

Annual Mission Trips

Each year Mt. Zion plans an annual Mission Trip.  Many of our trips are overseas, but with natural disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes, we oftentimes visit local areas to help our neighbors remove trees, pick up storm debris, and make needed repairs.

Our overseas trips have included such places as the Dominican Republic, Panama, etc.  While there, we help build/rebuild buildings, minister to the local population, run Vacation Bible Schools, and Sports Camps, and present the Gospel Message.

Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
